In January-July 2022, Ukraine’s coal imports fell to 4.3 mio t (-7.4 mio t or -63% y-o-y).
Russian supplies to Ukraine amounted to 1.7 mio t or 40% in Ukraine’s overall coal imports for the period January-July 2022. Ukraine has terminated supplies of Russian coal since late February 2022 in the wake of Russia’s military operation. Thus, the specified volume of Russian coal was delivered in Jan-Feb 2022.
In January-July 2022, Ukraine received 0.8 mio t or 19% of coal from the United States, 0.4 mio t or 9% from Australia, 0.3 mio t or 7% from Colombia and the rest of volumes from other suppliers, including Kazakhstan.
In 2021, Ukraine imported 19.6 mio t (+2.6 mio t or +15% y-o-y).
